A Korean barbecue restaurant was granted an alcohol pouring license by the Cartersville Alcohol Control Board – but not without a warning.
Board members told Gina Lee of CLH USA, LLC doing business as 41 Korean BBQ that this is a second chance to get the rules right.
The same restaurant was cited last fall for selling alcohol without a license. The citation was against Lee’s partner, who had petitioned to be the license holder but started selling alcohol before gaining approval.
It was cited again later. The citation was against Gina Lee, who allowed people to bring their own alcohol to the restaurant. City attorney Keith Lovell said there is pending litigation involving Lee and the restaurant.
Board members felt some of the restaurant’s issues with compliance was not in understanding the process and the rules. They agreed Lee should get another chance. Lovell made it clear once she was approved that Lee understood the restaurant couldn’t immediately serve alcohol.
City officials explained Lee would need to come to the office, pay for the license, get it processed, and then get a physical pouring license to be displayed before alcohol could be served.
