A single family development of 550 lots may settle in Cassville. Kevin Siefert of the Pacific Group confirmed this afternoon that the development company is under contract to buy 334 acres from Georgia Fox.
“We have shared a project site plan with some of the neighbors,” Siefort said.
The news comes on the heels of Bartow County Steve Taylor approving a rezoning request for Kroger to build a mega-store along Fire Tower Road. Siefort said he has been following that process and appreciates the involvement of those living in the area in rezoning issues. That is prompting the company to work with local residents first before presenting a final site plan and pursuing rezoning with the Bartow Planning Commission.
“They are mobilized well and have stood in force as a group,” he said. “We are going to work with neighbors before we submit anything.”
He said there isn’t a firm timeline to submit a rezoning application, but he hopes one can be submitted within 3 months. Siefort said it is a “work in progress” and that everything will be done openly with the neighbors in mind.
“We aren’t big on trying to push through, slide by, or ramming our way,” Siefort said. “We are much more inclined to work with our neighbors.”
This proposed project is next to Fire Tower Road near Hamilton Crossing and west of Stone Gate. It includes much of Gaddis Road and part of Cass Station.
According to documents, the request is for R-1 which is low-density residential. It is set have a 40 percent undisturbed area. Lots will be 7,500 square feet with house sizes ranges from 1700 to 2200 square feet.
