During the recent search of a missing 15 year old from Adairsville High School, we learned a few things about the Bartow community. First and foremost, hundreds volunteered to help. Fellow citizens searched day and night. A lady named Nickie Leighly was planning a candlelight prayer vigil for tonight at AHS. Youth pastors were going to speak to children whose parents felt they needed outside love and comfort to help deal with their feelings. An ex Army recon man contacted us asking how he could help, day and night. He was willing to help plot the search. Even with as much press as this case received on social media, there were many citizens in the area that did not know someone was missing and did not know to check sheds, barns or other storage areas. We were told the GBI got involved this morning. This community is the best! Churches in the area stepped up and did an amazing job! Gateway Church allowed their building to be used as a search base for volunteers. Crosspoint-Adairsville helped in multiple ways and I’m sure others did as well. Daniel Bearden planned a search yesterday. The JROTC and others planned a search. One lady tried to organize the areas searched by creating a Google document. Law enforcement was all over this case. They used a helicopter and dogs. It was amazing and beautiful to watch all of you come together. Thanks to the people who shared posts and said prayers. The local media and Atlanta news stations were covering this. Denise Dillon with Fox 5 was at Gateway Church with the searchers last night. This is Bartow!
