Bartow County has managed to escape the crime epidemic that is plaguing larger cities like Marietta and Atlanta, according to a stats map produced by a data website. However, the county gets a C+ overall for crime. Numbers are pulled from local crime reports. Crime rates include property damage as well as other crimes.
The safest places to live in this county are Euharlee and White with both getting an A+ for low crime. Other outlying areas like Adairsville also have good ratings. Adairsville is split between incredibly safe and moderate crime with the dividing line being Poplar Springs Road. Areas along Adairsville Highway toward Rome have good rankings.
However, higher crime rates are looming in Adairsville with significant crime rates reported in a large area surrounding Wood Road SW, Shaw Road, and Miller Ferry Road SW, practically merging with crime in Calhoun.
Cartersville itself has incredibly safe areas mixed with moderate and heavier crime areas. The area around the Cartersville Country Club has a top-safe rating as does the Atco area. The immediate downtown area falls into the moderate category while areas along the Old Town section, along Cassville Road toward Aubrey Street, and the West Avenue area reporting heavy crime rates.
Bartow County’s worst crime areas are Cartersville’s north end between Felton Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, as well as areas surrounding Lake Allatoona near Emerson. The Burnt Hickory area has heavier moderate crime reported.
Moderate crime was reported in the residential areas between Sugar Valley and Mission Roads.
How did other neighboring counties do? Floyd County has a high crime rate for Rome but is safe in areas surrounding it. Polk County has moderate crime rates in Cedartown and Rockmart with safer areas further out.
Paulding County gets mostly an A+ as does Cherokee County. Cobb has a slightly lower rating with Marietta and the area east of Kennesaw seeing higher crime rates.
