This week, more than three dozen pastors and faith leaders came together in Marietta at Roswell Street Baptist Church for a discussion with Anat Sultan-Dadon, Consul General of Israel to the Southeastern U.S. at our Pastors Roundtable. Christians have a calling to stand with Israel and the Jewish people.
We discussed various ways to show our support:
Pray: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, the return of the hostages, and the protection of the Jewish people.
Act: Act in support publicly, financially, and politically.
Share: Share publicly in churches, schools, media, and social media.
Thank you to the pastors who joined us and the millions of Christians across the globe who stand by Israel.
Legislative Update
The PRIASE Act (HB 925) by Rep. Steven Sainz passed the House with a vote of 112-50. This bill protects religious freedom by ensuring religious institutions receive the same treatment as other businesses or organizations during a time of emergency. Please urge your Senator to support this measure and religious freedom.
Unfortunately, more gambling legislation is moving. A constitutional amendment expanding gambling via sports betting (SR 579) passed out of the Regulated Industries Committee this week and is now in the Senate Rules Committee for consideration. Please contact your Senator and urge them to oppose the expansion of gambling in Georgia.
We were encouraged to see the Senate Education and Youth Committee take action on SB 351 by Sen. Jason Anavitarte. This bill seeks to protect children from the harms of the internet via social media and empowers parents to control what their children are exposed to. Social media is often corrosive and harmful to minors leading to anxiety, depression, and even suicide. Families deserve the ability to protect their children.
