If you’ve been on social media today you probably saw where thousands of people posted photos of the Northern Lights as we experienced a very rare Extreme G5 storm. It has been more than 20 years in October 2023 since we’ve experienced anything even close.
When is the best time to see the Northern Lights? Typically they are viewable two hours before midnight and two hours after.
Besides for the Northern Lights, this is also happening tonight!
The International Space Station will be visible tonight.
Time: Sat May 11 9:20 PM, Visible: 7 min, Max Height: 86°, Appears: 10° above SW, Disappears: 10° above NE
The Northern Lights are most intense viewed through your phone camera but can be seen with the naked eye. To take a good photo with your phone, open the camera, point it at the sky, touch your screen to activate slow shutter mode and viola! Beautiful photo.
We want to see your photos and videos! Please post them in the comments on our Facebook page.
