Tropical Storm Helene is expected to rapidly intensify as it enters the Gulf of Mexico and move very fast toward the Florida Panhandle area.
Counties in northwest Georgia can expect to see Tropical Storm Force Winds (38 – 73 MPH) enter our region if the forecast holds true.
Now is the time to secure your outdoor items. Trees are at risk for coming down as are limbs, and power lines. Outdoor chairs, cushions, trampolines, umbrellas and more could be blown away by the forecasted wind.
A lot of much needed rain is also expected. Flash flooding is also a possibility. I wouldn’t rule out a tornado ahead of the storm. Take precautions now to avoid problems later.
