February 18, 2025
BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. Atlas Development, LLC has announced plans to construct a $4.5 billion data center, known as Project Springbank, Bartow County. The proposed facility will be located southeast of Adairsville, near Perkins Mountain Road, approximately an hour northwest of Atlanta.
The data center is designed to encompass six buildings, each approximately 379,000 square feet, totaling over 2.27 million square feet. The facility will utilize closed-loop technology to minimize water and sewer demands.
Each building within the campus is projected to consume up to 78 megawatts of electricity, with the entire facility’s capacity reaching 432 megawatts, equivalent to the power usage of about 324,000 homes.
The project is slated for completion by December 2031. While the exact economic impact for Bartow County is still under assessment, the magnitude of the investment suggests significant potential benefits for the local economy.
As the demand for data storage escalates, metro Atlanta continues to attract substantial data center investments, positioning itself as a pivotal hub in the digital infrastructure landscape.
